| well it just seems that life is crazy here in Chicago. First the weather has been nasty all winter and here we are in April with temps. barely reaching 50! Everyone is feeling the effects of cabin fever. School is quickly coming to an end with only four weeks left before finals!! I'm really excited about ending my time at SSC and moving on the bigger and better things at ISU! The Lord has been really good in making all the details fall into place, especially with housing! | i am bored and overwhelmed with life.......i want more interesting things to happen to me. plus i totally suck at the Christian life...my spirit is willing but the flesh is weak!!!!! i'm a leader of intervarsity christian fellowship but my heart is really not even 50% into this group. i am discouraged because this group was not a well established group to begin with soo i felt that if we want this group to work than i HAD to help because no one else was gonna step up. how can i be a leader when my heart is not right with God? I'm frustrated and confused..........i need a radical change of heart | | |
| Dear Friends!!! Well it appears that I am booked and ready for WOLBI Alumni Weekend May 25th-28th!! I'm really excited about going! I miss all of you 2nd yr. kids very much and can't wait to see you all. School is going great...the end of the semester is near! I have a major research paper that I'm working on but other than that...i'm looking forward to being done soon. After this semester I will only have about 10 more classes to take before completing an Associates Degree... I love my job at the library and thank the Lord everyday for it! At school i'm involved in InterVarsity Christian Fellowship which is a non-denominational group centered on proclaiming Jesus Christ. We started this semester with very few people but this week we are going around and doing survey's just to find out what kind of people would be interested in coming to our Bible studies. Today I talked to 10 peple and hopefully will do more before the end of the week. The weather is finally getting warm...today it was 60 and tomorrow its suppose to be 70! Shorts ...here i come! Have a great day Friends.....God Bless PS. For all my WOL friends...if you were not planning on going to Alumni weekend....i beg you to reconsider...this might be the last time we see each other before Heaven! | | |
| Its that time again to update.....the most exciting news since my last entry is that i no longer work at Jrs. Hotdogs. I now am working at a library and loving every bit of it. School is going well...all except for speech class. I don't mind speaking in front of people however my teacher is at least 80 yrs. old and lets -just-say--not much learning is getting done! Other than that I really like all my teachers! The work load so far this semester has not been bad. I am still involved in the youth ministry at church and we recently had the WOL FASCAR rally..there were about 32 folks who came out for the matchbox racing and ministry. In a few weeks, a ladies bible study will be starting and we haven't had one of those for many years. I'm hoping that i'll be able to attend and that it will not conflict with my work schedule. Hope all of you are well and striving every day to be more like Jesus than the day before! Hugs and Kisses to all! ALSO HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! lOVE SARAH | | |
| Well Friends.......life is beautiful!!! God has provided multiple jobs for me over this Christmas break. I am just so grateful for these jobs. My brother and I are busy doing inventory of wires and lights at our lighting company. My eyes and brain are going crazy with all the numbers!!!!!! The hotdog stand did quite well on the 23rd cuz Santa Claus came to visit. We had presents for all the children who came to see him. My co-workers wrapped about 200 gifts. The santa who came was very interactive with the children and seemed to enjoy his job. We were crazy busy that day! It was a great experience for me. I still can't believe that i have almost 3 weeks left of vacation!!! Hopefully after this busy season I can relax for the remainder of the holidays. I was able to send off all 40 of my Christmas cards amongst the business!!! You all will think this kind of crazy but my 5th grade teacher and I still keep in touch every year with cards and such. She sent me a picture of her children who are now 13 and 10!!!! Andrew, her oldest was like 4 when I was in 5th grade!! Crazy! One of my favorite Christmas presents was a book from Beth Moore called Believing God. So far its been great! One of her introductory questions asks if we want to give our spiritual life a boost. The question is : Why are we running out of ink in our highlighters marking Scriptures that rarely jump off the page and onto our pavement? I thought this question was really eye opening. This question rings true in my life and how about yours? Just something to think about. Have a great New Years Friends, and I hope that it will be a year where we bring more glory and honor to our Lord and win others to Christ! | | |
